Mininster Garranah Honors El Nahas and El Haty (?01 ???????, ?2009)

CAIRO, EGYPT, Thursday October 1, 2009: After more than 40 years of service in the field of tourism, Ahmed El Nahas, Egyptian Tourism Federation Chairman, and, Ahmed El Haty, former Chairman of the Chamber of Tourism Establishments receive honorary recognition by H.E. Zoheir Garranah, Minister of Tourism, for their dedication and contribution to the comprehensive development of Egypt’s tourism industry.

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, El Nahas and El Haty were both present at the Cairo International Conference Center, on the evening of September 30, 2009, to receive their tribute by Minister Garranah.

Following this, Minister Garranah and El Nahas commended 37 hotels, 18 travel agents and 15 tourism establishments with certificates of excellence for outstanding achievement in their respective field of business and further promoting the industry.

Reflecting, El Nahas says “it is with pride that I accept such recognition for service to my country. We all work hard to do what we can and it is with all of our collective efforts that we continue to better the industry, make Egypt compete as a valued holiday destination with other leading countries in the world, and make tourists return.”

In 1999 El Nahas was elected President of the Egyptian Hotels Association, having worked for 36 years with Hilton chain of hotels. In 2002 he became Vice President of the Egyptian Tourism Federation before being elected Chairman in 2005 and then reappointed as Chairman for the federation’s Fourteenth Term (2008 – 2011).

El Haty is the owner of three successful restaurants recognized as tourist establishments: El-Haty Restaurant, Ali Hassan Restaurant and El-Mashrabia Restaurant. He was board member of the Chamber of Tourism Establishments for 20 years then as a Vice Chairman for 6 years before holding the position of chairman for some 10 years.
