Spa and Wellness in Egypt (?12 ??????, ?2009)

Cairo, Egypt: Mr. Ahmed El-Nahas, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Federation (ETF), signed an agreement with Best Health Austria Center on March 12, 2009 at the ITB Berlin Trade Fair.

The signing ceremony took place during a press conference held by Egypt’s Minister of Tourism, H.E Zoheir Garranah, announcement was made to commence improvement of Egyptian health spas in conformation with international standards.

The ETF, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, have formulated a committee to review problems emanating from poor service provided in different categories of hotel health spas. The committee includes experts in the Wellness and Health tourism from the private sector, as well as ETF and Egyptian Tourist Authority representatives.

Appointed by the committee, Austrian expert Dr. Stephen Thellen, presented a full report after close inspection on the current conditions of Egyptian health spas. According to his recommendations, the committee decided to seek international expertise in the field, namely the Best Health Center. The standards they define will be the benchmark for health spas in Egypt assisting them in managing prospective problems.

Also present at the conference was ETF Director General Mr. Ayman Altaranissi and Mr. Amr El Ezaby, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourist Authority.
